From the car park below St. Gertraud (1,385 m) on the wide path no. 108 through the Kirchbergtal valley to the Kirchberger Alm (1,891 m), then on past the Bärhap-Alm to the Rabbijoch with the Haselgruber-Hütte (2,405 m, 3 hours).

Now take trail 145 up to the lake plateau and the uppermost lake, the Kirchbergsee (2,544 m).

Return via the same route.
