Discovering the habitat of Ötzi – at the archaeological and active museum archeoParc in Schnals, extending over a surface of 4,000 m² at an altitude of 1,500 m.
The archeoParc Schnals is situated in the village Unsere Frau in Schnals in the surroundings of Meran. In this archaeological museum the visitors can see and learn more about the Iceman and his life.
Ötzi was found in 1991 behind the mountain ridge of the Tisental, which is visible from the museum and the outdoor area. The archeoParc is the first archaeological museum in South Tyrol. In the reverse engineered Stone Age village it is easy to envisage the everyday life. The visitors can try and imagine how life was in Ötzi’s time: pottery, working flint, fire starting…
