Museum of People through Time

The Museum of People through Time in Kurtatsch on the Wine Route guides its visitors through 12,000 years of history. The varied objects display the development of humans and the historical development of South Tyrol from the Stone Age until the modern consumer society.

In addition to numerous peculiarities and rarities from different eras, the museum also offers multimedia animations. Lively museum tours and presentations by many fully functional equipment, make the museum visit a very special experience for all senses. Many things can be tried by yourselves too. For kids and adults, there are interesting experiments in each subject area.

As the museum is located in the middle of an archaeologically important area of early history, some exhibits were found right on site. Some of them were even found in the exposition room where they are displayed today.

In addition to permanent collections, such as the Myth of Viticulture, Silk Temptation or Industrial Revolution, changing special exhibitions shout the amazing nature and life of humans in different eras.

The Museum of People through Time has already been existing since 1976. In 2006, it got a new concept, in 2012 it was refurbished and in 2019 it has again been expanded. A new information system allowed all visitors to interact via their smartphones with the exhibits.
