For families in search of adventure in South Tyrol
Do you want to do something with your family that is fun and a little bit crazy? Are you looking for something extraordinary to get your children away from the TV, computer and mobile phone and at the same time be able to immerse yourself in nature and admire the beauty of South Tyrol? We have selected 3 exciting proposals for you and your family!
Challenge for brave little ones (> 3 years): Alpine Bob
In the Meran 2000 ski and hiking area near Hafling, the Alpine Bob is an adventurous attraction for the whole family in summer and winter: young and old alike whizz down the 1.1 km long toboggan run up to a height of 12 m - usually with much laughter or shouting. Children between the ages of 3 and 9 can only travel with a person over the age of 16. What are you still waiting for? The summer season has already started!
There are several summer toboggan runs in South Tyrol, discover them with us!
9 km of breathtaking downhill run: Mountaincart on the Plose
Where in winter sledding enthusiasts whizz downhill, in summer you can whizz down the Plose, Brixen's local mountain, several days a week (check the website for days and times because they change according to the month) aboard a moutaincart. But what is a mountaincart? A mountaincart is a kind of off-road go-kart with 3 wheels, but without pedals and motor. When you rent a mountaincart at the mountain station of the Plose cable car, you will be provided with a helmet and advised to wear goggles to protect your eyes from dust and dangerous objects.
This is a really fun adventure - especially for children aged 10 and over, who will be able to ride it safely. There are other routes for mountaincarts in South Tyrol, for example in Ladurns, Erlebnisberg Watles, in Pfelders and in Schnals.
On the Plose you can also try the Plose Looping, which is located directly at the top station of the Plose cable car. The Eye of the Dolomites, probably the highest 360° bike ride in the world! All you have to do is climb into the saddle, strap yourself in and pedal as hard as you can! Fun is guaranteed!
For those not afraid of heights: the zip line at the Adrenaline X-Treme Adventures Park
This adventure is not suitable for featherweights! If you want to try the Zip-Line at the Adrenaline X-Treme Adventures Park in St. Vigil in Enneberg, you will have to weigh at least 40 kg. For once, weight is not a problem! Quite the contrary! You will need it to be able to cope with the 400 m of altitude difference, the 800 m of continuous descent without an intermediate platform, the 3,200 m total length of the course and 100 metres above the ground.
To immortalise the moment, you can also rent a GoPro with a selfie stick and receive your very own video!
Another experience in the void can be found at the Ötzi Rope Park Schnals and if the adrenaline still isn't enough? You can try the Powerfan, a 13-metre free-fall at the Outdoor & Fun Park Kronaction at the Issinger Weiher in Pfalzen, the giant swing on Kronplatz or an adventure course in one of South Tyrol's dedicated parks.
