The hiking tour starts in St. Johann, more precisely at Gasthof Stallila. Here you follow the Putzhof sign and hike over the Rohrberg into the mostly wooded western flank of the Trippachtal valley. From here, hikers have a fantastic view of the Großer Löffler.
To the right, follow the path to the Kegelgassalm, leave it behind you on the left and hike up the eastern slope of the Kreuzkofel to its summit. There are two secured passages in the last section. Now follow the red-white-red marked high-level trail to the thread and down to the Stallila.
