Hiking tour Birnlücken hut
Short description
On this very varied tour, hikers experience the unique landscape in the farthest corner of the Tauferer Ahrntal and the northernmost mountain hut in South Tyrol, which lies on the border with Austria. A must for nature and mountain lovers!
Description
From the car park in Kasern, you hike - always following the markings no. 13 - for quite a while on a flat road or forest path towards the end of the valley, first passing the little church of the Holy Spirit and the Talschlusshütte hut, then the Adler and Kehreralm mountain huts. The wide path eventually turns into a cosy path that climbs gently in places.
After the Kehreralm, the path climbs more steeply to the Lahneralm. However, you can catch your breath again on the subsequent flat section through a marvellous valley. The last part of the trail up to the Birnlücken hut consists of many small, sometimes quite steep hairpin bends and steps, but these are easy to master for hikers who are used to walking.
And the view of the magnificent mountain landscape with the Dreiherrenspitze and other glaciers as well as the well-earned rest in the mountain hut will make you forget all your efforts.
Take the same route again for the descent. Hiking enthusiasts can also take the long but beautiful Lausitzer Höhenweg trail back to Kasern. The Birnlückenhütte is also the starting point for numerous other hut and summit hikes.
