Route description
We start our hike in Naturns. A short ascent takes us to Juval Castle, the residence of mountaineering legend Reinhold Messner. Messner's unique art collection can be visited daily in spring (April to June) and autumn (September to November). From Juval Castle, the Tscharser Waalweg trail (marker no. 3) leads 200 metres above the valley floor of the Vinschgau Valley towards Kastelbell. The consistently easy path leads past the irrigation channels of the Venosta Valley fruit growers, known as "Waale". On the way we pass a snack station. The hike ends with the section to Kasten Castle and finally to Kastelbell Castle in the village centre of Kastelbell. Take the "Vinschger Bahn" train or the Lininebus back to the starting point in Naturn.
