There are hundreds of hiking opportunities and mountain tours around Taufers in the Münstertal valley. One of these is the Piz Chavalatsch, which is quite easy and straightforward to reach.

Route description
From Taufers in the Münstertal valley, first take the car via Prad to Stilfs and via the hamlet of Platz to the Fraggs farm and then to the game reserve. Park there. From the game reserve, follow the mountain road on foot, turn right onto path 2 and continue through the Platzwald forest and over the slopes to the Untere and Obere Stilfser Alm.
From there, take path 5 and follow the many hairpin bends to the summit of Piz Chavalatsch. The descent either follows the ascent route or from the summit eastwards over the ridge and across the pasture slopes of the Ochsenberg to the Stilfser Alm and back to the starting point.
