Route description
We take advantage of modern lifts to take the cable car to the mountain station of the Gitschberg (2198 m). We follow the signs to the Zaßlerhütte hut and on to the Ochsenboden. Here begins the well-marked trail no. 6, which leads to the Seefeld-Alm at 2,340 m and is quite exposed in places. Now it's a short descent to the shores of the impressive Seefeld lake. We circle the glistening waters on trail no. 15 and then hike down numerous hairpin bends into the rustic Altfasstal valley to the catered Wieserhütte and Pranter-Stadel-Hütte. At the end, the trail leads along a paved road back to Meransen and the cable car valley station.
