Centre of the village of Barbian
Destination of the tour
Dreikirchen
Route description
This hike along the western sunny slopes of the Eisack Valley takes us to a place where cars are forbidden, early Christian spring sanctuaries bubble up and churches flow into one another. We begin our excursion in the village centre of Barbian. Path no. 3 leads uphill to the local sports zone and past the "Keep fit" facility. After only one hour of easy walking, we reach Bad Dreikirchen. You will hardly believe your eyes at first: The three neo-Gothic churches of St. Gertraud, St. Nikolaus and St. Magdalena are connected by a continuous wooden roof. For the way back, you can choose the somewhat longer path with marker no. 8 to Barbian.
