Description
The Gilfenklamm Gorge in the Eisacktal Valley is probably one of the most outstanding gorges in the Alpine region. It is cut in white, pure marble and reflects the surrounding greenish. Breathtaking.

Route description
The starting and finishing point of the hike is the entrance to Stange, a small village near Sterzing. Immediately at the car park (the road to the village is marked) the path leads to the natural monument Gilfenklamm. A modest fee is charged for entering it.
Now head down into the valley and along the stream into the Gilfenklamm gorge, which has been made accessible by a daring system of stairs, suspension bridges and steep tracks. Exit the gorge at Jaufensteig and return to the starting point at Stange via trail no. 11b and the Reiffenweg ruins.
