Starting point of the tour
Villnösstal valley head, "Zanser Alm" car park
Destination of the tour
Gschnagenhardtalm
Route description
From the car park, trail no. 6 leads over serpentines to the Zanser Alm. Pass the Pension Sass Rigais and follow the path to the bridge over the St. Zenon stream. To the right of this begins the Adolf Munkel trail, marked consecutively with no. 35. The wide path nestles against the gentle ridges, which will catch your eye with mighty stone pines and lush fields of alpine roses. It is worth taking a break now and then to enjoy the overwhelming views of the almost 800-metre-high north faces of Furchetta, Sass Rigais and Fermeda towers. Finally, we reach the Gschnagenhardtalm. After a well-deserved snack with South Tyrolean specialities, we follow trail no. 36 back to the Zanseralm car park.
