Short description

Mountain bike tour Prad: to the Stilfser Joch

Description

The Stilfser Joch is the second highest mountain pass in the Alps and an absolute must for ambitious racing cyclists and mountain bikers.

Starting point of the tour

Prad

Destination of the tour

Stilfser Joch

Route description

The starting point for conquering the Stilfser Joch is Prad. From here, mountain bikers can either start directly upwards on the tarmac pass road or turn right at Gomagoi towards Stilfs and spice up the otherwise rather monotonous tour with a detour to the Furkelhütte hut and an "unbikeable" path to Trafoi.
From there, mountain bikers pedal up hairpin bend after hairpin bend to the Stelvio Pass. Tip: Cyclists should manage their strength well, as you will quickly run out of breath here and there is nothing left of the view or the marvellous summit feeling if your lungs are exhausted.
