MTB tour Telfer Almen
Short description
A beautiful mountain bike tour between Ratschings and Sterzing in the Eisack Valley.
Description
Mountain biking is an exciting sport: you train your fitness, get up (almost) everywhere, you push yourself to your limits and are rewarded with panoramic views turn after turn. And hurtling downhill is pure pleasure anyway.
Starting point of the tour
Rosskopf cable car car park
Destination of the tour
Telfer Almen
Route description
The starting point of the bike tour is the car park of the Rosskopf cable cars. Here, bikers immediately take the route signposted Raminges 19 and Rosskopf 23. The route first leads to Thuins and Telfes on a tarmac road. Watch out at the second bend near Telfes: instead of rounding the bend, cyclists have to go straight on past Haus Rainer and onto a gravel road towards Rosskopf.
Cyclists pedal along a forest road for about 6 kilometres past the Furlhütte and continue left to the Sterzinger Haus (follow the signs). Here, mountain bikers take the hiking trail to the Sternhütte and continue on trail no. 23 to the Kuh- and Ochsenalm. Return past the Freundalm to the Atscherwiesen and on to Telfes. Here you take the tarmac road back to Sterzing.
