Short description

The landscape in the Eisacktal Valley offers attractive excursion destinations - also for mountain bikers.

Description

Klausen in the Eisacktal Valley is a picturesque little town: small, with old walls, a river running through the centre and winding alleyways. You immediately feel at home here.

Starting point of the tour

Griesbruck in Klausen

Destination of the tour

Amberghütte

Route description

The cycle tour starts in Klausen near Griesbruck and leads along the Gufidaun road (follow the signs) to the Villnöss bus stop. From here, cyclists first cycle a short 4 km into the Villnöss Valley and then turn right over a wooden bridge at Gasthof Stern in Mittermühl to reach the old Froy spa.  The route continues to the Gnollhof farm and after another 200 metres bikers have to turn left onto forest road no. 7 to the beautifully situated Amberghütte hut.
The way back first takes cyclists back to the junction and along trail no. 7 through an impressive tufa forest. Caution: don't miss the turn-off towards Lajen! The path there is number 35. Once in Lajen, mountain bikers should definitely take a break and take a look at the stately little village. It pays off! From Lajen, the route then leads via Albions on trail no. 5 back to the starting point in Klausen.
