Route description
The cycle tour starts in Meransen. Here you cycle uphill to the tennis centre and continue left into the Vals Valley on a moderately difficult trail. After a few kilometres, mountain bikers cross the country road. After 500 metres, turn left onto a forest road towards Jochtal. The gravel road is very steep in places and you quickly gain altitude. After the relatively strenuous ascent, mountain bikers reach the Anratterhütte, which is open in the summer months.
After a short rest, cyclists continue to the mountain station of the Jochtal cable car. To the left of it, a narrow path leads to the well-known summit of the Stoanamandl (look out for the markings). From here, mountain bikers can enjoy a marvellous view of the Pfunderer mountains and as far as the Dolomites. The way back is along the steep and challenging Knappensteig trail, a delight for freeriders. You pass Villa Defregger and follow a forest path to Spinges. The route continues on a bumpy path to Mühlbach. The cable car takes you back up to Meransen (space for 2 bikes and 2 or more people).
