The municipality of Völs has about 3,500 m of inhabitants and is formed by the districts of Blumau, Oberaicha, Obervöls, Prösels, Pröslerried, St. Anton, St. Kathrein, St. Konstantin, Steg, Ums, Unteraicha, Untervöls and Völserried.
In the 19th century already, the village at the foot of Seiser Alm was very popular with vacationers from the nearby city of Bozen. Also, Völs is considered as being the place of origin of the hay bath. In fact, it is a famous destination for those who are searching for regeneration still today.
