The Oswald von Wolkenstein Ride is a spectacular highlight in the calendar of events in the area of Seiser Alm-Schlern, and at the same time one of the biggest equestrian spectacles in South Tyrol.
Hardly another event combines history, sport, culture, dynamic and folklore in such a balanced way.
For the 42nd Oswald von Wolkenstein Ride in 2025, the entire festivities are planned again:
- Qualification at Prösels Castle in Völs on 31st May 2025
- Opening ceremony at the village square of Völs on 13th June 2025 with food, drink and knightly show fights
- Opening parade through Völs with the participating teams, bands, carriages and horses on 14th June 2025
- The four tournament games of the Oswald von Wolkenstein Ride on 15th June 2025
Highlight: Tournament Games
Participants compete in teams of four. In the challenging tournament games in Kastelruth, Seis, at the swimming pond in Völs and at Prösels Castle, they have to give proof of their ability to handle horses. Team spirit, courage, but also love for the horse are indispensable prerequisites for the tournaments.
The award ceremony at Prösels Castle is the conclusion and at the same time the crowning glory of this unique event.
