The picturesque village of Seis am Schlern at the foot of Seiser Alm is a wonderful holiday resort for nature lovers, families and active travellers both in summer and in winter.
Seis belongs to the municipality of Kastelruth and is located at 1,004 m of altitude at the foot of the famous Seiser Alm and the impressive Schlern massif. Europe’s highest pasture is regarded as the gate to the Dolomites and can be easily and quickly reached with a modern cableway starting in Seis.
The charming village centre offers several shops, restaurants and bars for strolling, relaxing and enjoying and offers two worth-seeing churches. In the centre and in the surroundings of Seis, there are sportive, culinary and cultural events almost the whole year round.

In summer, the area around Seis am Schlern is a paradise for hikers, mountain bikers, mountaineers and climbers. Seiser Alm hiking area is also ideal for families with kids and mountain sports beginners thanks to modern lifts. The Running Park Seiser Alm offers training tracks for professional runners.
Adrenaline junkies can try paragliding and see the idyllic mountain world in the environs of Seis from a very exciting perspective.

Families are offered several educational and thematic trails. Fans of the Middle Ages should absolutely visit the caste ruins of Salegg and Hauenstein. Hauenstein Castle was the home of knight and poet Oswald von Wolkenstein in the Late Middle Ages. In fact, the annual Oswald von Wolkenstein Ride is dedicated to him.

In winter, you can reach the family-friendly ski runs of Seiser Alm ski area by cableway within a few minutes. Arrived there, you are offered sunny slopes, dreamlike views, modern lifts and inviting ski huts.
A well-established network of cross-country ski runs will surprise Nordic skiers and the excellent snow park hosts international competition time and time again.
In the snow-covered landscape around Seis am Schlern, winter hikers, ski tourers, tobogganers and ice-skaters will feel like in paradise too. A special romantic highlight is a horse-sleigh ride across the sparking winter wonderland.
