Route description

The hike begins in the village centre of Egna/Neumarkt and takes hikers first by bus to Cavalese/Pedrazzo and finally to the San Lugano saddle. From there, the hike finally starts on trail no. 4, which winds its way up the steep western slope and soon afterwards onto the magnificent plateau of the Trudner mountain meadows. Following a comfortable footpath, the route leads to the Langen Moos and along forest path no. 9 to the picturesque Krabesalm and down to the "Malghette" and the Zissattel.
Mountain lovers can now hike along the Lake Constance-Adriatic Sea long-distance hiking trail (E5) to the Hornalm and on to the Weißensee high moor. After crossing the flat saddle on the west side of the moor, trail no. 3 descends to the Gfrillner Sattel behind the Königswiese. Here, hikers follow trail no. 3/4 to the Gstoagerhof farm and descend along the old "Klapfl" mule track to Mazon and past the castle ruins back to Neumarkt.
