Starting point of the tour
Luttach
Destination of the tour
Gruber Alm
Route description
The bike tour starts in Luttach in the Tauferer Ahrntal valley, from there it goes to St. Johann and from here, at the Kottersteghof junction, turn right onto the toboggan run and up towards the Klausberg mountain station. At the end of the toboggan run, bikers pedal to the Gruber Alm: please pay attention to the signposts! The path becomes steeper and steeper and, after a flat section, descends again to the Gruber Alm. Here cyclists should recover from the exertions of the ascent and refuel for the next stages. Continue left across the meadow and into the forest and onto a forest road.
At a fork in the road, take the path on the right towards Steinerhöfe. After the first bend, turn left across the meadow and past a weekend cottage. Cycle along trail no. 10a towards Pojen and reach a forest road after a stretch. Here cyclists have to turn right downhill and are rewarded with a marvellous view of the Dolomites. Once in Pojen, you pass the Roaner inn and turn right after the bridge to a small stream. Along the stream, pedallers rock steeply downhill on the old church path no. 33.
The path is a challenging, flowing single trail that leads to Sand in Taufers. From here, take the main road back to the starting point in Luttach.
