Destination of the tour

Route description
From the Saltria bus stop on the Seiser Alm(1,650 m), take the forest and meadow path no. 7A up to the Zallinger hut (2,050 m). Then there is a steep ascent on path no. 9 to the Plattkofl hut. This is where the actual Friedrich August Trail (no. 4 and 557) begins. The path is narrow in places and there are a few short secured sections, but otherwise it is not difficult. You reach the Sandro Pertini hut with a beautiful view of the Plattkofl. Finally you reach the Friedrich August hut, dedicated to the Saxon king and Dolomite lover Friedrich II. From there, continue towards Sellajoch on a wide forest road with views of the Langkofel and the Steinernes Stadt.
The way back is the same as the way out or you can take the bus from Sellajoch via St. Ulrich to Kastelruth.
