Hiking tour Piz da Peres
Short description
The Piz da Peres – a magnificent mountain in the Dolomites that is easy to reach!
Description
The Piz da Peres is a beautifully shaped mountain south of the Kronplatz in the Dolomites and a rewarding summit for all those who like short tours but don't want to miss out on rocks and a certain tingling sensation in the stomach.
The ascent described here does not take the classic route via the saddle, but runs from Olang via the back to the summit. As a result, the ascent route is often covered in old snow and quite slippery well into early summer and is also covered in snow early in autumn. The tour is therefore particularly recommended in July, September and October - in August, on the other hand, it is usually very busy here.
Starting point of the tour
Furkelpass between Olang and St. Vigil in Enneberg
Destination point of the tour
Piz da Peres (2,507 m)
Route description
The hike starts at the Furkel Pass, which connects Olang in South Tyrol with St. Vigil in Enneberg. Follow trail no. 3 at the hut and take trail no. 12B at the first crossroads. Follow the path through sparse forest and the Pre da Peres ski slope to the mountain station and then take the narrow forest path to a weather cross, from where you have a beautiful view down to St. Vigil.
The route continues through the spectacular northern slopes of the Piz da Peres on relatively good paths, which can only be a little tricky when there is snow or rain. After about 1.5 hours, you reach the grassy ridge of Piz da Peres and immediately afterwards the summit cross. The view of the mountains of the Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park is magnificent. Towards the north, on the other hand, almost all the peaks of the Zillertal Alps and Tauern can be recognised on a clear day, as can the Ahrntal mountains. Wonderful!
It takes just under 2 hours to reach the summit and just over an hour to descend. If you are lucky, there is still snow on the Pre da Peres piste and you can slide down to the Furkel Pass.
