An impressive hike around the famous Rosengarten massif. Starting and ending point is the comfortably equipped Kölner Hütte (2,337 m).

Route description
Trail no. 550 starts at the Kölner Hütte and leads to the "Pas de Coronele" (2,630m). From here you can see the crossroads that we reach on the descent over the steep slope at the "Coronelle" pass. At the crossroads, we take path no. 541 to the "Cigolade" pass (2,552m), which leads us to the Rotwand hut.
Change path for the last time and follow path no. 549 ("Hirzelweg") and hike on a slight incline at the foot of the steep walls and rock spires of the Rosengarten back to the starting point at the Kölner Hütte.

Hiking boots, possibly rain protection
Public transport
Regular buses run from Bozen to Tiers or to Welschnofen. No bus service to the Niger Pass.
Directions
By car to the Niger Pass (near Welschnofen/Tiers). From there on foot to the Frommeralm. From there take the chairlift to the Kölner Hütte.
