If you want to get to know the legendary world of the Rosengarten and the Latemar, the best way to do so is on a leisurely and absolutely scenic hike at the foot of the Latemar from Obereggen to Lake Karersee.

Route description
The hike begins in Obereggen in Eggental. From there it goes on trail no. 21a first through dense forest and then on trail no. 21 mostly level along the foot of the Latemar and up to the viewpoint Mitteleger. The hike continues on trail no. 11. No. 11. It leads the tourers through the Karerwald forest and to the impressive Karersee lake in South Tyrol.
After a pleasant rest with a magnificent panoramic view, the trail continues along the western shore of the lake in the direction of Welschnofen and via trail no. 8 or no. 14 to the Bewallerhof farm. From here hikers return to the starting point.

Directions
Brenner motorway A22, exit Bozen Nord, direction Bolzano at the roundabout, turn left into Eggental Valley (SS 241) and continue on the long Dolomites road, in Birchabruck turn right to Eggental, Obereggen.
