Description

The highlight is the crossing of the vertiginous suspension bridge to the Exner Tower at the end of the via ferrata.

Starting point of the tour

Wengen

Destination of the tour

Pisciadù Hut

Route description

From Wengen you first take the car in the direction of Badia, where you can park your car halfway between the Grödnerjoch pass and Kolfuschg. From the car park, mountaineers walk eastwards and enter the via ferrata at the first steep turn. Well secured with a helmet and via ferrata harness, the route is not too difficult until the main part of the via ferrata, which is quite exposed and breezy, but is absolutely no problem if you have some climbing experience.

If you do get cold feet, you should leave the via ferrata at the Schroffenkessel via the emergency exit and reach the Pisciadù hut via ferrata tracks. If you follow the via ferrata, you go up to the right over vertical and well-secured rocks to the Brunecker tower and on to the daring suspension bridge to the Exner tower. After a few minutes, you arrive at the Pisciadù hut.

You can either return through the Val de Mesdi or take path no. 666 to the north-west and descend steeply through the Val Setùs valley to the starting point.
