Hiking area Obereggen

In winter, the South Tyrolean holiday destination Obereggen is a popular skiing area forming the Skicenter Latemar together with Predazzo and Pampeago. In summer as well, four modern lift facilities bring hikers to lofty heights in an easy and comfortable way – be it from the South Tyrolean side or from Trentino. 300 kilometres of perfectly marked hiking paths, countless fixed-rope routes and an extensive network of mountain bike routes make the discovery of the unique mountain world a very exciting experience.

A Dolomites adventure full of surprises

A special highlight is accessible from Obereggen with a one-hour walk or with Oberholz panoramic chairlift: the Latemarium. Eight different thematic paths in front of Latemar massif show the Dolomites – UNESCO World Natural Heritage – in all their facets, thrilling nature lovers. Fascinating insights into the alpine flora and fauna, interesting information about meteorology and many interactive stations for the playful transfer of knowledge will delight families with children; breath-taking panoramas, idyllic power places and creative artworks as well.

Unique climbing paradise

Latemar and Rosengarten are mountains of longing for climbers, as they offer countless climbing routes from difficulty level three to nine as well as eight secured fixed-rope routes. Beginners will acquire the first know-how for rock adventures with climbing lessons. Advanced climbers look forward to a variety of exciting challenges.

Moreover, activity lovers of any age can test their skills also at Obereggen high-rope course: Four parcours with 30 stations and an 80 m long zip line offer varied fun and adrenaline.

Sports in many variations

Runners can choose between the challenging route up to Oberholz top station and an easier walk around Karersee, a romantic mountain lake. The vast range of trails with all difficulty levels thrills passionate bikers – from easy circular routes for the whole family to demanding freeride trails. Mountain bikers should try surrounding Latemar massif, which can be done within approximately five hours by means of the lift facilities.

As well, lovers of other sports will feel like in paradise: A horse-ride through the fascinating mountain scenery offers unique experiences for horse lovers. Golfers enjoy the fascinating panorama on the 18-hole course in Petersberg.
