Route description
Before the Via Claudia Augusta leads into Trentino, the ancient route runs along the Adige river and through rich orchards to Salurn in the south of South Tyrol, a picturesque wine village with a multicultural flair. Culture-conscious bikers stop here and visit the Haderburg castle before continuing southwards in Trentino.
The Via Claudia Augusta also leads cyclists along the Adige in Trentino. We particularly recommend a stop in Trento and a visit to the historic city centre, which is well worth seeing. You can either return along the same route or by train.
