Summer & winter in the nature park
Bright sunshine, fresh air and the magnificent landscape of Trudner Horn Nature Park invite to spend a lot of time outdoors. Lush Alpine meadows, dense forests and the nearby mountains are a varied terrain for all kinds of family excursions.
On the way, you can make a stop in many cosy inns and mountain huts and taste many culinary specialities. Not only on the menus, but everywhere in and around Truden the proximity to the Italian language boundary is apparent – it is an interesting mix of southern and alpine elements.
In winter, the nature park becomes a paradise for snowshoe hikers. Skiers should visit the ski areas of Jochgrimm as well as the slopes in the nearby Fleimstal Valley.

Truden has also some cultural highlights: For art lovers there are available several worth-seeing churches and chapels.
Nature lovers visit the famous “Geoparc Bletterbach” – the “Grand Canyon” of South Tyrol or the nature park visitor centre, giving an important insight into the flora and fauna as well as into the geological peculiarities.
For recreational archaeologists and historians, there is the prehistoric settlement of Burgstall on a hill in Altrei. In fact, shards were found on this spectacular viewpoint.
Another peculiarity is the 600-year-old linden on the village square in Truden.
