Active holidays with kids
To keep a holiday exciting for all family members, parents now and then have to improvise. Whereas you keep being surprised by seeing the Three Peaks, Mt. Langkofel or Mt. Schlern, kids are not enough interested in these views. Kids are not exited by hiking upwards for a long time neither.
Kids appreciate activities and adventures – such as the high-rope course, a big outdoor playground or a swimming pool. Or how about a horse ride, balancing on a slackline or a driving a mountaincart?
Family fun in summer & in winter
Small vacationers also love classic summer activities – provided that they fulfil a few fundamental conditions. Some of these may be safe, not too long and too steep cycle and hiking paths, excellent rest point and sufficient shade. The children’s motivation will even be bigger if there is a picnic, a great playground or a wonderful bathing lake.
The same is true for the cold season: Numerous family-friendly ski areas, toboggan runs and ice-skating rinks are waiting to be discovered by both kids and adults. There is no chance of getting bored!
Hiking with kids in South Tyrol
There are many hiking trails in South Tyrol, but which are suitable for children? It is important for all hikes that they are exciting and that there is always something for children to discover, otherwise their mood can quickly change. Adventure trails are therefore well suited, because they offer the little ones numerous attractions, e.g.
- Haflinger adventure trail (Hafling village)
- Lorggenring adventure trail on the Plose
- Squirrel trail in Marling
And do not forget to plan enough time for all the tours, because with small children, the journey is the goal. Also, for longer tours, take a child carrier or hike on easier paths with a pram.
