Holidays in Vöran
Sun worshippers watch out: come to Vöran! The small village is located on a mountain called “Tschögglberg” between Bozen and Meran, directly in the heart of the Burggrafenamt.
Due to its position at 1,200 m above sea level on the south-western hillside, its inhabitants and its guests enjoy a mild climate and above all many pleasant sunshine hours from early in the morning to far into the evening.
In addition to the main village Vöran also Aschl, Hinterkofl, Unterdorf and Leadner Alm are parts of the municipality, spread over a relatively large area. The high plateau with view of Etschtal Valley is characterised by woods and meadows.
If you would like to spend some days in complete tranquillity, untouched nature and bright sunshine, Vöran is exactly the right place for you.
Coming from Bozen, Vöran is reachable by car via Mölten, from Meran via Hafling. Moreover, you can use the modern cableway to Vöran, starting in Burgstall.
Leisure time in Vöran & surroundings
Mt. Tschögglberg is a popular hiking, biking and recreational area with many well-marked walking and hiking trails. The hike to Cinema Knottn is particularly popular – a fantastic view point where you can enjoy a wonderful panorama sitting on wooden chairs.
Another highlight in Vöran are the old mountain farms; many of them still have old thatched roofs. The enchanting St. Anna chapel is worth a visit too.
From Vöran, you can perfectly reach Meran 2000 hiking and skiing area. Here, you are offered modern cableways both in summer and in winter, countless leisure activities and inviting mountain huts.
