Holidays in Pfelders
Pfelders is located at more than 1,620 meters above sea level, so it is the highest permanent settlement in the upper valley of Passeier. It is quite right to describe the tranquil village as alpine pearl – in every respect.
The about 23 kilometres long valley of Pfelders branches off from Moos in Passeier to west. Thickly wooded slopes and long mountain ridges flank the winding road, which leads past single houses and farms. The head of the valley is a little bit wider and there is located the little village Pfelders, embedded in the nature park Texel Group and protected by the mighty Mt. Hohe Wilde and Mt. Hinterer Seelenkogel.
For years Pfelders has had a small but nice and notably snow-sure skiing area including a toboggan run and a cross-country ski run. Also, many other conditions for a holiday marked by tranquillity, nature and relaxation are given. Nevertheless quiet and peace are always guaranteed in Pfelders and environs, so that you can always enjoy the snow-white ski runs or the green mountain pastures, mountains and hiking paths.
Pearl of the Alps
In order to keep this tranquillity, Pfelders has fully devoted itself to sustainable tourism and the motto “no car – no stress – a lot of nature”. Since 2010 Pfelders, Moos in Passeier and the neighbouring districts are part of the association Alpine Pearls. All members of this cross-border cooperation between holiday resorts lay great emphasis on climate and environmental protection, eco-friendly mobility and the maintenance of the regional culture.
Pfelders follows these principles with an innovative mobility plan. It provides that only a few cars run in the village centre marked by traditional wooden buildings and old farm houses. Inhabitants and guests take the city bus or the village express instead, in order to reach the centre, the next shop or the ski runs in a stress-free but comfortable way. In summer there is available even a horse and carriage.
In short: Whether you are planning holiday with the whole family, a hiking, climbing or skiing holiday or just a time out in order to enjoy nature and recharge your batteries – Pfelders in Passeiertal is always a good choice!
