Dolomites high alpine routes 3 & 4
The high route 3 connecting the Dolomites Alps to Valle del Piave across famous peaks as the Three Peaks, Crystal and Pelmo. It starts from Niederdorf and follow the path which is called the "Way of chamois." The hike is not too demanding but promises unparalleled views and landscapes.
From Niederdorf reach Misurina, Passo Tre Croci and then the refuge Vandelli in about 5 hours. From the refuge Vandelli can be reached then the refuge Tondi, Zuèl and San Vito di Cadore, this path undertakes about 7 hours.
Remember that the high street avoids Cortina d'Ampezzo you can see it from above, and that between Zuèl and San Vito is advisable to take a bus, rather than walking on the highway, always very busy.
From San Vito we head towards the refuge Venice in about 4-5 hours. From the refuge is possible to climb above Pelmo, the climb, however, requires a good workout.
In seven hours, from the refuge Venice, can be reached Passo Cibiana and refuge Remauro. From here you can enjoy a magnificent landscape on Alta Piave Valley, the Boite Valley, Zoldo Valley and Austrian Alps.
The last stretch leads us from the Remauro to the refuge Casera Bosconero and finally to Longarone in about 6 hours of walking. In this last section passes on gravelly gullies equipped with metal strings.
Dolomites alpine path 4
The high route number 4 covers a length of 90 km, is to be done in 8 days and brings from Innichen to Pieve di Cadore. The path is easy / medium difficulty.
This high route, like many others is not too demanding, it requires several days and that is why divided into stages with the possibility of camps and staging points.
It is called "Grohmann" in honor of Austrian alpinist that climbed this mountain in 1800 years. The high route go through the Dolomites on trails and mule tracks. If your intention is to climb to the refuge Vandelli or Bivouac Còmici you need some experience in mountaineering. It starts in Innichen, we head towards the refuge Tre Scarpèri and Locatelli, until you reach the refuge Auronzo in about seven hours.
The next day we go to Refuge Frères Fonda Savio and the Refuge Città di Carpi, you will need 7 hours. From the refuge Città di Carpi is reached then the Refuge A. Vandelli in 4 hours following the path 120 and across the Fork Maràia (2101 m), enjoying the panorama of Col de Varda and Misurina.
From the refuge A. Vandelli we head towards the Bivouac Còmici through Vendelli Park and the Park Minazio here some complex transition is facilitated by the presence of some fixed ropes. You have to go towards the refuge San Marco and the refuge Galassi in about 6 hours, from here we leave again towards the refuge Antelao and finally to Pieve di Cadore.
