The Salten Hochplateau with Jenesien is a rewarding hiking area for families and pleasure hikers.

Route description

The hike begins 50 m above the Jenesien church. At the fork in the trail, active hikers turn left and pass a housing estate. Follow path E in the direction of Langfenn and at a fork in the path take path no. 7.

Walking across beautiful larch meadows, hikers pass an old farm and soon reach the protected and worth seeing Tschaufer Weiher and then the Tschaufenhaus. Here, walkers take trail no. 2 and head east to the Wieserhof and Locher. Here, hikers take the L forest path and return to Jenesien.

Directions

Brenner motorway A22, exit Bozen Nord, direction Bozen via the district Rentsch. Before the valley station of the Rittner cable car, turn right and follow the signs to Jenesien.
