The Sarntal Alps with their more than 140 mountain peaks enclose the Sarntal valley above Bozen like a horseshoe. If you want to get to know the Sarntal Alps and climb all the peaks, you should do so on the one-week horseshoe tour.

Route description
Day 1: From Sarnthein via the Sarner Scharte, to the Rittner Horn Haus
Day 2: Rittner Horn Haus - Gasteiger Sattel - Jocherer Alm - Latzfonser Kreuz
Day 3: Latzfonser Kreuz - Fortschellascharte - Tellerjoch - Flaggerscharten Hut
Day 4: Flaggerschartenhütte - Hörtlaner Scharte - Astenberg - Penser Joch
Day 5: Penser Joch - Grölljoch - Oberbergalm - Weißenbach
Day 6: Bus ride to Aberstückl - Durralm - Kaserwiesalm - Missensteiner Joch - Kesselberghütte
Equipment
Hiking boots, hiking poles, torch, wind and rain protection, sunglasses, mobile phone, hiking map, first-aid kit, range finder.

Trains stop at Bolzano railway station, bus connection Bozen-Sarnthein
Directions
Brenner motorway A22, exit Bolzano-South, then follow signs to Sarntal/ Val Sarentino.
