Apple pancakes
Whether as a dessert or a small snack between meals: The apple pancakes are a culinary highlight for all those who love sweets!
The smell of fresh apple pie is not only to be found on South Tyrol's gourmet food trails. This delicacy can also be found on the menus of many mountain huts and restaurants. The delicious apple slices baked in batter delight young and old alike and can also be easily prepared at home.
Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 2-3 apples
- 125 g flour
- 1/8 l milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1/2 pkg vanilla sugar
- tbsp sugar
- pinch of salt
- Oil for frying
- 3 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp cinnamon
Preparation:
Cut out the centre of the apples with a core cutter, peel and cut into 0.5 cm thick slices.
For the batter, mix the flour with the milk and later stir in the egg yolk, oil and vanilla sugar. In the meantime, whisk the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff and then fold into the batter.
Heat the oil in a pan, dip the apple slices in the batter and fry on both sides until light brown. Mix the sugar with the cinnamon and sprinkle over the warm apple cakes.
