Horn Attacke
Our editorial team always tries to provide detailed and accurate information, but it is possible that events undergo changes that we are unable to update in real time. Exact details on dates, times and programmes can be obtained directly from the organiser. The Horn Attacke is a race that combines the disciplines of running and ski touring over a distance of 20 km and with an altitude difference of 2,000 metres. The starting point of the competition is in the center of Bozen. From there participants run to the changeover station in Pemmern where, once arrived, they take off their running shoes and put on their ski touring equipment to climb the last 7 km up to the summit of the Rittner Horn.
On the way to the finish, the duathlon participants are accompanied by fantastic views that provide additional motivation.
Men and women can take part in the event, individually or in pairs, even mixed, splitting the race into the two different disciplines. For those who love special challenges, there is the individual mountaineering category: The "mountaineers" carry their ski touring equipment on their own shoulders from Bozen up to the changeover station in Pemmern, before tackling the final 7 km on skis. Those competing in this special classification will be awarded the 'Ulli Seebacher' prize, in memory of one of the race's creators.
The 6th edition of the Horn Attack will take place on 8th March 2025, and registrations are possible online from 1st October 2024.
