Music, film & theatre in South Tyrol

The mountain scape in South Tyrol has always attracted many famous artists. Gustav Mahler, an important Austrian composer, was deeply inspired by the beauty of South Tyrol and created some of his most famous works in a small house in Toblach. Here, in the nearby Grand Hotel, the “Gustav Mahler music weeks” are taking place since many years. The festival of classic music is held in Gustav Mahler concert hall, which offers excellent acoustic conditions.

In winter, when the days get colder and shorter, families and groups of friends often enjoy film evenings in of the cinemas in South Tyrol. The Cineplexx in Bozen offers seven cinema halls. Bruneck, Brixen, Sterzing and Meran also offer smaller cinemas, being nonetheless perfect for funny film evenings with the entire family.
The South Tyrolean mountains are also frequent location for films, TV series and sports events, which majorly out the scenery in the forefront.
