Description
The following cycle tour is ideal for discovering the Gsiesertal Valley, its Alpine pastures and hamlets. However, the starting point of the cycle tour is not the Gsiesertal valley, but nearby Taisten in the Pustertal valley.

St. Magdalena in Gsies
Route description
As already mentioned, the mountain bike tour starts in Taisten and takes mountain bikers along tarmac roads as well as forest and meadow paths into the Gsiesertal valley. Cyclists first pass the hamlet of Schindelholz and then continue to Außeopichl and Oberpichl and finally from Kargruben to St. Martin in Gsies.
The route continues along the Pidigbach stream to the subway at the sports field and continues on the left side of the valley to the end of the valley in St. Magdalena in Gsies. Return along the same route or turn off onto the old Gsieserstrasse in Oberplanken and continue to Unterplanken, where you return to Taisten via Durnwald.
