Short description

The world-famous circumnavigation of the Sella massif for mountain bikers

Description of the tour

The "Sellaronda" is a dream for every skier. This summer variant for cyclists follows the legendary route around the Sella massif.

Starting point of the tour

Corvara (1.568 m)

Destination of the tour

Corvara (1.568 m)

Route description

The Sellaronda cycle tour is 55 kilometres long in total and, like the winter original, starts in Corvara (1,568 m). First of all, it goes up to the Campolongo Pass (1,875 m), which connects the Val Badia with Buchenstein/Arabba (1,602 m) on the south side of the Sella massif.  Continue westwards over the Pordojoch (2,239 m) and on to the Plan de Schivanais. From the Fassa Valley, you climb steeply up to the Sella Pass at 2,240 metres. The following descent leads into Val Gardena. Finally, you have to conquer the "serpentine monster" Passo Gardena (2,121 metres), which connects Selva di Val Gardena with the starting point of the cycle tour, Corvara in Val Badia. The Sellaronda is part of the "Maratona dles Dolomites" - the most popular cycle race in the Ladin Dolomites.
