Golf holidays in South Tyrol
The charming mix of Mediterranean and Alpine influences makes every holiday spent in South Tyrol an unforgettable experience – golf holidays as well.
The perfectly maintained golf courses with their own distinct characters, the varied landscape and the excellent cuisine guarantee pure golf fun.
Long golf season in the South
Southern South Tyrol has a Mediterranean climate. In fact, the golf courses near Lana and Eppan are lush green already in February. In April, springtime shows its best side and between the magically flowering apple trees, playing golf, cycling and hiking are the most wonderful activities. As well, autumn has its charms and is used to hold its grounds against winter for a long time: Red apples, blue grapes and golden vine leaves create a wonderful play of colours. Thanks to the mild climate playing golf in the middle of fruit orchards and vineyards is still possible at the beginning of December.
Golf courses near the mountains
On the golf courses in the holiday region Alta Badia, situated above 1,000 m, near Petersberg in Eggental and above Welschnofen at Karerpass, the dreamlike scenery of the Dolomites outweighs a shorter golf season. At the height of summer, playing golf in the clear mountain air is not as strenuous as at lower altitudes. As well, the moderately positioned golf courses in Reischach at the foot of Mt. Kronplatz, near Kastelruth in the holiday region Seiser Alm and in Passeiertal near Meran allow golfers to enjoy an impressive mountain panorama.
A varied offer
In addition to the three 18-hole and the five 9-hole courses, South Tyrol offers a few smaller practice greens for less experienced players. For instance, Golfclub Freudenstein and Golfclub Quellenhof offer driving ranges equipped with the latest technology. Golf fans should also try the 18-hole course of Dolomiti Golfclub in Nonstal Valley in the province of Trento. The course can be reached from Bozen within an hour and the drive over Mendel pass itself is a wonderful experience.
Be it wellness or wine tastings, shopping fun or city tours, visiting a museum or a castle – the environs of the golf courses in South Tyrol offer something suitable for any taste. The golf clubs and golf hotels in South Tyrol offer interesting packages for golfers.
