Olympic games Milan-Cortina 2026

The last edition was Turin 2006, and fifty years earlier, Cortina d'Ampezzo, had hosted the Winter Olympic Games in 1956.
The games will take place in Milan, Valtellina, Verona, Cortina, Antholz and Val di Fiemme. Antholz valley will be the location as far as the biathlon is concerned, whose competitions will take place in its beautiful biathlon centre of the town in Pustertal, the South Tyrol Arena.
The best athletes from all over the world will do battle on the snows of South Tyrol in what is considered one of the world temples of biathlon. Antholz has hosted World Cup events and two World Championships since 1975. The slopes have various levels and on a length of about 20 km.
The first Olympic Biathlon competition will take place on 8th February 2026, immediately awarding a gold medal in the mixed relay.
There will be 16 Olympic disciplines at the Games of Milan Cortina 2026: alpine skiing, ice hockey, freestyle skiing, speed and short track skating, cross-country skiing, figure skating, snowboarding, bobsleigh, skeleton, luge, ski jumping, curling, biathlon competitions, Nordic combined, and ski mountaineering.
The Paralympic Winter Games, on the other hand, will be held the following month, from 6th to 15th March 2026.
