Strawberry growing in Martell
In the Martell Valley, strawberries are grown between 900 and 1,800 metres above sea level. The dry climate, the warm days and cool nights let the berries ripen relatively slowly, which gives them a very special aroma.
Thanks to these climatic conditions, the strawberry harvest is usually still in full swing here, when it is already over in most other growing regions in Europe. If you want, you can taste and buy the red fruits directly at the South Tyrolean Strawberry World in Martell during the harvest season from June to September.
