Harvest festival in Klausen

Our editorial team always tries to provide detailed and accurate information, but it is possible that events undergo changes that we are unable to update in real time. Exact details on dates, times and programmes can be obtained directly from the organiser.
The small town Klausen is the capital of the harvest tradition "Törggelen" and it is right there, where every year the popular harvest festival called "Gassltörggelen" takes place.

If you don’t know yet what “Törggelen” means, here you have a short explication: It is an ancient South Tyrolean tradition in order to welcome the autumn and to thank for the harvest. Farmers and winemakers invite to come in their snuggery and to taste their new wine.

In addition, there will be served fresh apples, grapes, chestnuts and many other autumn specialities such as sausages with sauerkraut, salt meat and dumplings.

This was the general part. Now the particularities: Klausen is the only village in South Tyrol, where “Törggelen” is offered not only in the warm farmhouse, but also outdoors in the centre of town.

You can taste typical dishes and wine in the streets of Klausen, enjoy lively music and see the big parade and the new “Törggele” Queen.
