On Saturday, 12th October 2024, you can follow the traces of the medieval Romanesque arts between Burgeis, Neumarkt and Innichen.
The “Alpine Road of Romanesque Art” runs through the whole region and shows numerous Romanesque art sites, which will be open to anyone interested free of charge on this day. In fact, between Burgeis, Mals, Neumarkt and Innichen, around 30 churches, monasteries and chapels from the Middle Ages, which can be admired.
In addition to their unique architecture, which is expressed above all in the striking round arches, the Romanesque period also shows impressive works of art. During the free guided tours, you will come across historical sculptures, murals, frescoes and the exciting stories that surround them.
