Mill Festival
Our editorial team always tries to provide detailed and accurate information, but it is possible that events undergo changes that we are unable to update in real time. Exact details on dates, times and programmes can be obtained directly from the organiser. These are the benchmarks of the Mill Festival in Terenten that promises a perfect Sunday for the whole family. After the “Sowing” in spring, the Mill Festival is the second appointment in the course of the year that is on the program of the traditional series of events “'s Terner Schmelzpfandl” in Terenten. In autumn, there are always a harvest festival, the return of the cattle from the alpine pasture and the gastronomic week “Terner Bauernkuchl”.
The Mill Festival itself takes place on the first Sunday in August. Central parts are presentations of the miller’s work: From 10 am to 5 pm the wooden mill-wheels will turn again by water power and the farmers of Terenten will grind their grain just as their great-grandfathers did it decades before.
In doing so, you can watch them and get a lot of worth knowing info about the partly more than 500 year old, renovated mills, which are located above Terenten. In order to reach them, you can make an easy family hike that takes about one and a half hours.
Music & pleasure
Of course, the Mill Festival also includes a suitable musical and culinary supporting program. Delicious Tirtlan, dumplings, bacon, freshly-baked bread and other delicacies ensure that nobody has to go home hungry from the Mill Festival.
