Klausberg Ice Games
Our editorial team always tries to provide detailed and accurate information, but it is possible that events undergo changes that we are unable to update in real time. Exact details on dates, times and programmes can be obtained directly from the organiser.During the third week in January, several artists equipped with shovels and ice picks will mingle with the many skiers, snowboarders and après-ski lovers romping about the ski runs of Klausberg. Their aim: create some wonderful ice sculptures, which steal the limelight.
To do this, they will have to put in a bit of effort. After all, they have to distract the jury and the visitors not only from the other works, but also from the unique mountain scenery, which is offered at the mountain station K2 at 2,500 meters above sea level.
Figures made of ice and snow
The international ice sculpture competition “Ice Games” takes place for the 14th time on the popular skiing mountain above Steinhaus in the valley Tauferer Ahrntal: from 12th to 17th January 2025. All in all, the artists have four days to prepare 3x3x3 meter large ice blocks.
The artists have available only water, shovels, buckets, ladders and ice axes. The last day, an expert jury chooses the best sculptures, whose artists will get prize money. In addition, the visitors can elect their favourite.
