A great cross-country ski race in Gsies in Pustertal!
For about 40 years the cross-country ski race has taken place in the snow-sure valley of Gsies – always the third weekend in February. It has always been a crowed puller – as regards spectators as well as athletes.
Latter are hobby cross-country skiers or pros, coming from all over the world. The "Gsieser Tal Lauf" is the second largest mass sports event in winter throughout Italy and the largest one in South Tyrol.
The participants can choose between the marathon distance with 42 km or a shorter one with 30 km and there are races for skating as well as for classic style.
For the cross-country skiers there is prepared a special circuit with ascending parts, downhill sections and sprints. Start and finish are located in the village St. Martin.
